What is a "knit-along"?

The term "knit-along" actually originates from the English-speaking knitting community, where it's often abbreviated as "KAL." In this type of project, interested knitters agree to knit something together over a set period, either using the same pattern or based on a specific overarching theme. If the project focuses on a pattern that hasn't been published yet and is only released gradually by the designer, it's called a "mystery knit-along," since the final appearance of the finished project is still unknown.
