Classic or trendy – crochet cardigans and sweaters with Janine Myska
Crocheting is Janine Myska's passion. With her label "Knits 'N Knots," she is known for timeless and practical designs, which she is publishing in book form for the first time in "Crocheting Your Favorite Sweater." The book contains 19 new crochet patterns for "sweater weather": sweaters, cardigans, and tops that, thanks to their simple construction, are also suitable for ambitious beginners. In addition to simple crochet patterns for beginners, more advanced crocheters will also find more challenging models with design details such as turtlenecks, V-necks, cut-outs, or raglan constructions.
The projects are divided into four groups:
- "Wardrobe classics": Basic models with simple patterns and straightforward cuts, making them perfect for anyone who wants to crochet their first sweater or cardigan.
- "Perfect for the snow": Crochet ponchos and more! Crocheted with thick yarn, these models are especially warm. The choice of stitches and patterns ensures that the soft texture is maintained despite the yarn thickness and doesn't become too stiff.
- "The special look": Crochet an unusual top for a special occasion? The crochet patterns in this chapter surprise with asymmetrical silhouettes or special details (you can even crochet a whole dress!).
- "Light and airy": Crochet tops with a delicate look using finer yarn, which are well suited for warmer days.
Crochet your own wardrobe. Ideas for every skill level and taste.
Janine Myska aims to counter the notion that crochet, and crochet fashion in particular, is old-fashioned with her crochet patterns. Instead of a rigid "70s granny square look," she designs wearable garments with soft textures that are both comfortable and stylish.
All designs are worked with just a few basic stitches and use easy-to-learn, modern crochet patterns. The necessary techniques are explained in detail in illustrated step-by-step instructions. Ideally, you should have already completed a few smaller projects before starting, such as crocheting amigurumi, potholders, or granny squares. Basic skills like double crochet are required – but otherwise, the instructions are also suitable for ambitious beginners.
At the beginning of the book, it is explained in detail how to choose the right size based on your own body measurements, which material is best suited, and with which tips and tricks your favorite crochet pattern can be further customized.
